INTERMITTENT FASTING

What is it? Advantages / Disadvantages

This type of fasting has become very popular these days because it turns out, Intermittent fasting is the most accessible type of fasting technique that appeals to most people. This is because when compared to other more extreme types of fasting, its safer and more applicable to the daily routines of most working class folks.

One of the most common questions that my personal clients ask me when it comes to fasting is that, "can I do it while I'm still going to work and have physical demands in my labor?" Yes, maybe not necessarily prolonged liquid fasting, but with intermittent fasting you can!

Intermittent fasting is a type of technique that promotes a partial abstention from solid foods for the majority of your waking hours. There are many different times that are mentioned by different people and authors of different articles on the subject, but my own personal experience has taught me to eat solid foods between the hours of 12PM-6PM. For the rest of the day, I enjoy a variety of teas, smoothies, fruit juices and 1 gallon of water.

The exciting this about this topic is in regards to all those superhero films that have come out in the past 4 years or so. A trademark secret that many Hollywood actors/actresses use to get into great shape is in fact, intermittent fasting. How do you think these performers are getting into such great shape in a short amount of time? It's not only about the types of workouts and how much sweat comes out. Sure, it matters a little bit, but how about when you combine that with fasting and better yet, alkaline foods and beverages. The combination creates utter excellence. Have you seen Thor or Captain America?

Anyway, Intermittent Fasting is all about allowing the body to detox and the digestive tract to catch a break. There are many advantages that this type of fasting brings to the body and the mind. Know that fasting has been practiced for thousands of years, and even the great philosophers of ancient Greece hailed it as a remedy for many malices and illness that plague the body. More on that some other time. For now, here are some practical things for you to understand about Intermittent fasting.

ADVANTAGES

  • Safest form of fasting that does not require the supervision and care like other types of fasting does.
  • Accessible to most working people because it does not tax the body like other more experimental fasting does.
  • Constipation Relief: Many people struggle with regular bowl movements, and they eat 3 times a day without going to the bathroom once! If this is you, please consider intermittent fasting.
    • Taking breaks for meals and consuming liquids instead will flush your organs and allow your insides to clean out. You'll feel better eating a meal with clear pipes, trust me.
  • Detox: When people hear this, no one thinks that it can be easy and fun. Intermittent fasting is probably the most fun you can ever have while detoxing if you follow an alkaline diet, because it assures that you're eating all the right foods that will never set you back on your cleansing process.

DISADVANTAGES

  • Culinary Skills: For this type of fasting, most people have confessed that they just aren't creative in terms of cooking, and that the process of preparation is tedious and messy to clean up. Most people simply just don't have the time or discipline to prepare their own meals and have them ready for their daily working schedule.
    • This is a major drawback for some people because in this case, most people find that preparing juices and smoothies is easier and less time consuming. Yes I agree that for the most part, this is true. However, there are ways to learn great and easy to prepare recipes that are alkaline! Is this enough foreshadowing to my next blog posts? No, not enough :]
  • Slower Detoxing: In comparison to liquid fasting and other experimental fasting techniques, Intermittent Fasting is a slower detoxing process because one is generally still eating foods and digesting. This means that in an overall sense, Intermittent fasting will not yield the same results as a 30-day liquid cleanse will do. This is very important when considering getting into this. I would say from personal experience that a period of 4 months Intermittent fasting is more or less equal to a month's time of liquid fasting. It's a great comparison in terms of seeing the detoxing power of fasting as a whole.

CONCLUSION

Intermittent fasting is an excellent strategy that is more readily accessible to most working people, which allows one to practice it no matter what is happening in life. Currently, there are many studies that are being revealed to showcase the power of fasting in regeneration of the cells within our gut, increasing our energy and more. Intermittent fasting is great for those that want to loose weight, get clear skin, relieve constipation and optimize their energy. if you're looking into Intermittent fasting and alkaline living, I recommend you visit my site for amazing downloads and other information that is sure to help you in your "wellness sovereignty quest."
